About the Opportunity
This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [FEU]
The selected candidate may be offered a position within the same job family, at a level that is lower than what was posted. This will be determined based upon the results of the interview process which considers the candidate's skills, work history, experience level, and other relevant qualifications .
This position will be responsible for supporting the Customer Care Planning department within the Customer Experience organization. The Revenue Operations Strategy and Reporting group owns all regulatory and operational reporting for Revenue Operations and develops credit and collection strategies and solutions to reduce customer arrears and write-offs .
The position reports to the Supervisor, Revenue Operation Strategy and Reporting and can be located at any FE location.
Responsibilities include:
• Demonstrating a commitment to FirstEnergy Core Values and Behaviors, including Safety
• Developing operational, management, regulatory and other ad-hoc reports using a variety of querying tools including SAP, MS Excel & Access, Report Center, QlikView, Power Bl, TOAD, Visual Basic, etc .
• Coordinating and facilitating data reviews with all stakeholders to ensure alignment and accuracy
• Supporting initiatives to minimize and reduce customer arrears and write-offs
• Managing projects by leading, supporting, and participating in project management including process, tools and templates, and methods of communication
• Researching , reviewing and analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes/tasks and recommending enhancements
• Developing detailed process mapping for business process improvement initiatives
• Maintaining and developing Revenue Operations procedures and process flow diagrams
• Assisting with managing third-party Credit Collection Agencies, including data interfaces, reporting, performance reporting, commission payments, etc .
• Coordinating vendor contracts for Revenue Operations working with Supply Chain
• Supporting management by completing ad-hoc requests
• Responding to external requests including rate cases, audits, data requests, complaints, benchmarking , and peer utility inquiries
• Developing and delivering communications including reports and status updates to stakeholders
• Working closely with IT and other departments to implement system and reporting solutions
• Understanding Revenue Operations field operations, tariffs and regulations, and policies including but not limited to processes followed, training provided, compliance needs , and technology used
• Mentoring and providing coaching and training as needed
Qualifications at the Business Analyst level include :
• Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance or Economics is preferred, along with 7 years relevant work experience required. Relevant experience will include experience with reporting and strong analytical skills .
• In lieu of degree, minimum 10 years relevant work experience will be required . Relevant experience will include experience with reporting and strong analytical skills .
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint)
• Strong reporting and analytical skills including using Microsoft Excel and QlikView
• Attention to detail coupled with effective analytical and problem-solving aptitude
• Ability to conduct research, analyze data, interpret results, and make recommendations
• Self-motivator with ability to work as part of a team or independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously focusing on meeting deadlines
• Proven team player who contributes to team goals and supports other team members
• Ability to identify issues or problems and determine root causes and solutions
• Demonstrates a questioning attitude with willingness for continual growth, willingness to undertake assignments involving unfamiliar subjects, and ability to adapt and change quickly
• Delivers quality, accurate work within established deadlines
• Ability to work with ambiguity and in climates of significant and rapid change
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills to work with all employees, customers and vendor partners
• Knowledge of CRM/SAP is preferred
• Knowledge of FieldNet is a plus
• Financial background is a plus
