Perform a combination of manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties.  Use computer system for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting. Follow shipping practices and procedures, and transportation routing, schedules and requirements. Receive incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment. (Un)packs or (un)wraps items such as finished products, raw stock, assemblies, parts, building materials, office supplies, equipment, etc. Verify quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications; logs receipt of items on system, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents; reports materials shipped and bills of lading; posts weight and shipping charges and routes merchandise to destinationsPrincipal Accountabilities:Under close supervision:• Coordinate the activities of incoming and outgoing shipments • Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment • Inspect incoming shipments, reject damaged items, and record shortages • Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specificationsPhysical Requirements:Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbsMay require several hours per day of sitting, walking, getting up and down from chairs, walking up and down stairs, and reaching, or bendingEducation / Experience / Skills Required:High School diploma or GED equivalency required; higher education preferredOne year of experience in a similar role preferredPrevious experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Crystal Report preferredAbility to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environmentAbility to communicate effectively with variety of individualsAbility to pay close attention to detailStrong communication and organizational skillsMust be able to speak, read and write in the English languageWhat’s in it For You We’re in the business of unleashing human potential, driven by the ideas, energy and commitment of our people.
