Performs a variety of duties to support administration of the assigned department(s). Assists the Director, Pulmonary Services Supervisor and Patient Care Coordinators for the CPNS Department with a variety of administrative supportive assignments, including, but not limited to accounting, diagnostic transcription, records keeping, correspondence and patient care. Practice in accordance with state and federal law and health care regulatory standards.
Reports to: Pulmonary Services Manager & Director, Cardiovascular Services
FLSA: Non-exempt
Grade: G11

Minimum Education
□ Minimum graduate of a business related certification or diploma program preferred.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Ability to use computer, calculator, copying machine, FAX machine and dictation equipment.
Experienced in Microsoft Office.
Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, hospital personnel, and Medical staff.
Typical Physical Demands: full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye and hand coordination. Requires standing, walking and stooping and stretching. Occasionally lifts, carries and pushes items weighing up to 50 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to a normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and working irregular hours and extended shifts. Ability to present concise and adequate scientific information utilizing audio visual materials. Ability to explain and demonstrate new techniques and procedures to both professional and lay audiences.
Minimum Work Experience
Three years experience performing secretarial duties with a background in medical terminology, medical transcription and payroll. Kronos, Meditech, and Coding experience preferred.
