These positions are in the Office of Research and Development, Office of Resource Management, Planning and Budget Division, Travel Services Branch.
About:
This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to one of the duty stations stated in this announcement on a regular basis (location TBD after candidate selected). Partial work-from-home flexibilities may be authorized. Duties You will: - Provide oversight of administrative and financial areas related to travel management. - Assist team leader in identifying and defining problem areas or travel issues that need evaluation or assessment. - Assist in the development of QA reviews/assessments of the travel program. - Contribute to the effective management of travel administration and/or financial operational areas. When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses. NOTE: Career ladder promotions are not automatic, and all eligibility and qualifications requirements must be met in order to progress to the next grade level. This position is designated as Moderate Risk and requires a background investigation. Unless an appropriate background investigation is already on record with the Office of Personnel Management, you must undergo a background investigation. All conditions of the pre-employment security process must be met before an official letter of employment can be issued with a report for duty date. You must meet time in grade requirements no later than 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement. Therefore, to the extent a Federal job announcement includes the requirement that applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 pursuant to E.O. 14043, that requirement does not currently apply. Federal agencies may request information regarding the vaccination status of selected applicants for the purposes of implementing other workplace safety protocols, such as protocols related to masking, physical distancing, testing, travel, and quarantine.
Qualifications
We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below: To qualify for the GS-07 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-05 level defined as assisting with administrative functions; researching and/or gathering data;- OR 1 full year of graduate level education; or superior academic achievement () degree in an academic discipline related to this position- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. To qualify for the GS-09 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-07 level defined as participating in administrative projects; and preparing and/or analyzing reports;- OR master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related; degree in an academic discipline related to this position- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Knowledge of administrative practices and procedures; 2) Skill in oral communication sufficient to provide guidance; 3) Skill in quantitative and qualitative analyses; 4) Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies; 5) Skill in written communication sufficient to provide recommendations; 6) Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders; 7) Skill in program management.
