Job Summary
Owensboro Community and Technical College is seeking applicants for the position of Chief Student Affairs Officer reporting to the College President. This position provides leadership, management, and oversight of the Student Affairs division with the goal of providing the best student experience at the college. Support these efforts by coordinating the planning process and institutional research to meet college goals and outcomes.
Job Duties:
• Manage a budget of over $2.4 million and a division of 30 administrators and staff members and over 35 student/temporary employees. Directly supervise the Dean of Students Affairs, Registrar, Director of Cultural Diversity, Director of Counseling Services, Director of Financial Aid, and Director of Student Registration.
• Coordinate student services, including student application processing, financial aid, registration, student recruitment, career placement, cultural diversity, student development, dual credit, and counseling.
• Provide oversight of the data collection and reporting process in regard to student recruitment and retention, student enrollment management, student satisfaction, student expectations, student performance on certifying assessments, student performance in further education, and student job placement.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for coordination of key enrollment management efforts involving student affairs and collaborating with other areas of the college (academic, business, workforce solutions, information technology, and advancement).
• Coordinate the resolution of student complaints and student conduct issues.
• Able to pursue, develop, manage, and maintain appropriate grants.
• Serve on work teams and committees, as necessary.
• All other duties as assigned by the President, including membership on the President’s Executive Team.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Arrive at solutions to problems that are encountered in the design, implementation, and final reports components of the process, particularly in relation to the student experience.
• Draft changes and enhancements to the current process through team decision making/consensus process, presenting these proposed changes to the Quality Enhancement Teams, Administrative Council, and Executive Leaderships Team.
• Implement new processes and compile the results of the changes. Answer questions and interpret the guidelines, seeking input from the President when necessary.
• Provide leadership to over 4000 students within the KCTCS system of over 90,000 students.
• Develop and nurture productive relationships with employees in every division/department of the college.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in Education, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
• Four (4) years related administrative experience in Student Services/Student Development.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Doctoral Degree preferred.
• Three (3) years of experience supervising employees (e.g., managing and evaluations the performance of others) is preferred.
