Job Description:
Lead Project Engineer (LPE) in Grapevine/Dallas, TX. will review the mechanical design of HVAC systems
for new construction projects, identify and resolve obstacles related to HVAC construction on the projects.
The LPE will use Autodesk Revit and Naviswork software to create 3-D visual HVAC plans and ensure that
the 3-D model aligns with the standards and goals set in BIM Execution Plan and BIM project workflow
criteria. Coordinate with project managers to keep BIM designs synchronized and up to date. Maintain
"as built" drawings for construction jobs. Create all mechanical CAD shop drawings and/or rough opening
drawings for all projects. Provide markup drawings for CAD and/or rough opening drawings and
coordinate completion of the same. Maintain shop drawings and/or rough opening drawings and revisions
throughout project.
Select HVAC equipment for new construction projects, conduct the material and equipment take offs for
assigned projects, and set up the equipment schedule for construction projects. Prepare submittal
packages (for materials and equipment) for approval and keep the submittal packages current.
Collaborate with project managers to submit RFl(s)and change orders for projects as required. Plan
changes and modifications for all construction jobs. Retrieve and analyze contract plans from Procore and
other management systems. Ensure that contract plans remain within scope of the work as agreed to in
the contract. Review the work of assistant project managers to ensure technical accuracy. Implement new
technologies and train current and new employees on such technology. Perform other related tasks
necessary to maintain optimal performance of assigned projects.
Requires bachelor's in mechanical engineering, 12 mos exp in project management, 12 mos exp in Building
Information Modeling (BIM), and 12 mos exp with AutoCAD, AutoDesk, Revit, and Navisworks. Email cover
