As a Healthcare Representative, you will interview and advocate for patients and their families to obtain maximum benefit coverage in a hospital or home health setting.
If you are located in Athens or Monroe, GA, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges. Monday-Friday schedule (8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.)
Primary Responsibilities:
• Interviewing clients in a hospital setting to assist the clients in obtaining maximum benefit coverage
• Achieve and maintain certification designation as “Certified Application Counselor”
• Adhere to company and legal standards regarding Protected Health Information (PHI), Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and Personnel Transaction Identifier (PTI)
• Maintain ongoing communication with government agencies regarding the status of claims
• Maintain documentation of status of claims and client contract on Change Healthcare and/or hospital computer systems
• Making a determination to take a Federal, State or Local program application based upon medical definition of disability as it relates to body systems and to functions of daily living, and information contained in medical records

Required Qualifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent experience
• 1 years of relevant hospital and healthcare experience
• Proven knowledge of federal and state programs that will benefit coverage for the client
• Proficient computer skills and tablet devices including Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Ability to travel within the County
• Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance. • Associate degree
• Familiarity with Medicaid and Disability
• Experience working with people of various educational and socioeconomic backgrounds
• Solid work ethics and confidentiality
• Demonstrated time management skills and attention to detail
• Professional & polished demeanor
• Bilingual (Spanish)
