Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications Position Summary
Provide assistance to the barn manager and facility manager with the general upkeep of the equestrian facility and grounds. Serve as the facility and event operations coordinator for the UGA Equestrian program.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication, logistical, and organizational skills.
• Ensure compliance with NCAA, SEC and institutional rules and regulations pertaining to the sport of Equestrian.
Physical Demands
• Stand; walk; use hands and reach with arms.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and assist student athletes during weight training.
• Close and distance vision, and peripheral vision.
• Drive various farm equipment.

Duties/Responsibilities
Duties/Responsibilities
• Facilities and grounds maintenance to include, but not limited to, assisting with the upkeep and installation of fencing around equestrian facility, mowing grass, landscaping, weed control, fertilizing, and maintaining jumps.
• Assist the Equestrian Facilities Manager and Facilities Foreman with feeding of horses, hay production, cleaning of stalls, and the general upkeep of the equestrian facility.
Percentage of time 70 Duties/Responsibilities
• Oversee and assist with equipment maintenance.
Percentage of time 15 Duties/Responsibilities
• Serve as the event manager for equestrian events.
• Responsible for scheduling deliveries and set up, the set up and breakdown of equine and athletic equipment for competition, preparing the arena.
• Responsible for coordinating the clean-up prior to and after athletic events.
Percentage of time 10 Duties/Responsibilities
• Other duties as assigned.
