KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Meets and greets patients
· Review requests for release of patient information to ensure HIPAA compliance.
· Monitors physicians schedules and organizes flow for physicians’ office visits or in-office procedures.
· Completes referrals, prior authorizations for physicians and ensures they are handled promptly and efficiently, making sure to communicate with patients about future appointments.
· Performs other assigned duties per manager
Safety:
· Follows all practice protocols and established standards that promote a safe and productive work environment
· Practices standard Precautions, including handwashing and disposal of bio-hazardous material & complies with established risk management, HIPAA, and safety procedures
· Supports practice's procedures and policies for proper cleaning and routine maintenance
· Maintains work area and lab in neat and orderly manner
· Promptly reports equipment malfunctions to the office manager
· Performs other assigned duties per manager
Communication:
· Communicates in a professional manner, demonstrates effective and appropriate oral and written communication skills with patients, staff, and healthcare providers
· Returns patient calls and voicemails in a timely manner
· Attends required meetings and in services
· Performs other assigned duties per manager
Clinical:
· Performs lab duties as needed: Phlebotomy, order entry, venipuncture, proper handling of tube and performing end of day tasks i.e., sending out labs and any other tasks assigned by manager
· Daily clean and stock exam rooms
· check expiration dates on supplies
· Coordinates calls and calls in prescription refills to pharmacies under physician supervision
· Records vital signs; Performs EKG, spirometry and or other similar non-complex office procedures.
· Triage patients, including but not limited to vital signs, obtaining height and weight, preforming medication reconciliation and medical history while ensuring that all information in the EMR is correct and up to date
· Assist physicians with exams, administer injections and immunizations, and administer medications (intramuscular, subcutaneous)
· Preforms emergency life-saving procedures if necessary; perform in office tests including but not limited to A1c, blood glucose check, hemoglobin, urine samples, hemoccult, Hep C, HIV, swabs including flu A/B, covid, mono, strep and RSV.

Minimum Education Required:
High School diploma or G.E.D
Accreditation from Medical Assistant program required
Minimum Experience Required:
1-year primary experience required. Pediatrics experience preferred but not required
Additional Qualifications:
BLS-Required
Knowledge, skills, abilities
· Skill and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in-writing.
· Skill and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
· Ability to work as a member of a team.
· Knowledge of medical terminology.
· Proficient computer skills- Microsoft suite, typing and phone etiquette
