About the College/Unit/Department
The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University and the University of Georgia partnered to create a four-year medical school campus in Athens to help alleviate a statewide shortage of physicians that threatens the health of Georgians.
The AU/ UGA Medical Partnership combines the significant instructional and research resources of UGA , the birthplace of public higher education, with the expertise one of the country's first, and Georgia's only public medical school, the Medical College of Georgia.
In addition to increasing the number of physicians in Georgia, the partnership is expanding research collaborations between AU and UGA , creating new insights into the prevention and treatment of diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Students have the opportunity to learn in small group class sizes, while having the benefit of being part of one of the largest medical schools in the United States.

Position Summary
The Foundations of Clinical Medicine Coordinator supports the activities and team members of the AU/ UGA Medical Partnership's Office of Curriculum to deliver the Year 1 and Year 2 Foundations of Clinical Medicine curriculum in a timely and organized fashion. This includes (but not limited to):
• Placing and managing instructional content on the learning management system.
• Building and maintaining an appropriate curriculum calendar for all content.
• Collaborating with the Curriculum Operations & Data Management Coordinator to ensure overall effective curriculum administration.
• Archiving instructional content on the curriculum management system.
• Assisting in the generation of Year 1 and Year 2 module reports, faculty hour reports, and curriculum management system reporting to the Campus Associate Dean for Curriculum and Augusta University Registrar.
This position facilitates many mission critical processes and activities related to the Year 1 and Year 2 student experience. Duties necessitate interaction and communication with students, faculty, staff, and administration, and include managing, organizing, distributing, and archiving curricular materials. In the course of fulfilling this position, the individual is expected to support other curriculum coordinators and faculty in assessment coordination and delivery (including proctoring), course number ( CRN ) audit, and data entry/retrieval for internal Office of Curriculum projects as needed and assigned.
The Foundations of Clinical Medicine Coordinator is part of a team responsible for entering, maintaining, and analyzing highly confidential data related to students' evaluations, student grades, and faculty evaluations, and is expected to maintain strict confidentiality of such information. The individual in this position is expected to cultivate, develop, and manage relationships with students, faculty, and fellow staff members. As a member of the Office of Curriculum, they should be adaptable to the constantly changing needs of the curriculum and students, and are obligated to participate in their own life-long learning. Organizationally, this position reports to the Campus Associate Dean for Curriculum.
The Foundations of Clinical Medicine curriculum consists of two integrated tracks, medical knowledge-based (or contextual learning) and applied practice (or procedural learning). This position is responsible for the procedural learning content, which includes the following components: Clinical Skills (CS), Community & Population Health ( CPH ), and Evidence Based Clinical Decision Making ( EBCDM ).

Sustain daily administrative activities of the Year 1 and Year 2 Foundations of Clinical Medicine curriculum, serving as the first point of contact for day-to-day operations regarding procedural learning coursework, working primarily under the guidance of the Clinical Skills (CS), Community & Population Health ( CPH ), and Evidence Based Clinical Decision Making ( EBCDM ) directors and collaborating with other Office of Curriculum directors, faculty leads, and staff members, with the educational goal of helping equip students with the necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors to perform successfully in the Foundations of Clinical Medicine curriculum.
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Building Year 1 and Year 2 Foundations of Clinical Medicine course structures in the learning management system (Desire2Learn) and curriculum management system (One45).
• Managing Foundations of Clinical Medicine course (in module) scheduling, posting educational content (including changes and updates) to the learning management system, and liaising with Medical Partnership faculty and staff in clinical and non-clinical practice environments.
• Coordinating and publishing the clinical skills teams.
• Managing the Year 1 and Year 2 procedural learning curriculum calendar by facilitating calendar construction and reviewing and maintaining modifications as required.
• Collaborating with the Office of Curriculum's Curriculum Operations & Data Management Coordinator to ensure that appropriate faculty, students, other stakeholders have access to learning content.
• Leading archival capture of Foundations of Clinical Medicine curriculum content.

Gather data and information necessary to report on student learning.
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Generating Year 1 and Year 2 procedural learning module reports, faculty hour reports, and curriculum management system reports for the Office of Curriculum, Registrar, and school Senior Leadership.
• Assisting the Office of Curriculum's Assessment Coordinator in exam building and administration, including compilation of student performance data and communication of data for module review.
• Assisting the Office of Curriculum's Curriculum Operations & Data Management Coordinator to manage Foundations of Clinical Medicine evaluation packages, student teams, and maintain the capture and progress of students and faculty evaluations in One45.
• Assisting with the annual Office of Curriculum report.

Provide support for the Medical Partnership's Standardized Patient Team to help coordinate patient encounters during clinical skills sessions and during Objective Structured Clinical Examination ( OSCE ) assessment of student clinical competence. Act as back-up coordinator for student exams and faculty-led curriculum projects.
