This is a Professional Development Opportunity for Daviess County Public School employees and is not a paid position.  A limited number of participants will be selected.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Be a current DCPS certified employee.
• Have a minimum of three years teaching experience.
• Possess a sincere interest in serving as a leader (Instructional Coach, Assistant Principal, Principal, Central Office Administrator, Teacher Leader, etc.)
• Complete and submit all application requirements no later than Friday, May 5th.   Selected participants will be notified by May 30th, 2023.
• Administrative certification is not required, but preference will be given to candidates who have completed or who are working toward administrative certification or Teacher Leader graduate work.

• Cover letter explaining your desire and commitment to being a participant in the Future Leaders Academy
• Reference from your principal or supervisor (A letter of recommendation is not necessary, but you must list their name and email address in the ‘reference’ section)
• List two additional references from professional colleagues of your choosing (name and email address only)
Overview:
The purpose of the program is to:
• Build leadership capacity in DCPS schools and district.
• Provide participants with an introduction to school leadership at both the building and district levels.
• Assist participants in preparing for a leadership role.
• Provide growth opportunities through classroom instruction, group discussion, job-shadowing experiences, and other active leadership activities.
Time Commitment:
Participants must be willing and capable of investing a certain amount of their own time to the program. Over the course of the year, participants will be expected to participate in the following:
• Summer Leadership Days (scheduled for July 24 and 25)
• Eight days (Four two-day sessions), out of the classroom for job shadowing and classroom activities (Substitutes will be provided for the half or full day sessions depending on the session format).
• Some after-school hours are possible.
• Outside readings and assignments
