ABOUT THE TEAM
SAP is seeking an intern to assist in the public policy division of our Downtown DC office. The ideal candidate would be a major in political science, public policy, government, international business or legislative affairs or a related field. Candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to work with little or no supervision, possess strong writing and organizational skills, knowledge of the political process and an interest in policies related to information technology in the government arena.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
POSITION TITLE: SAP iXp Intern – Government Affairs Public Policy
LOCATION: Washington, DC
EXPECTED START DATE: April 2023 – October 2023
IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL:
Learn about the political process, the inner workings of corporations, government and industry trade associations and policies impacting information technology as used by the government. This position will give you a unique opportunity to obtain a mix of business, industry, legislative, policy, regulatory, event planning, and administrative experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Assisting with congressional and public affairs
Planning events, developing white papers, and completing legislative research and tracking
Attending and reporting on hearings and industry meetings
Assist with day-to-day administrative and office duties
WHO YOU ARE:
We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.
Qualified candidates will be in pursuit of (or recently graduated from) a degree program studying political science, public policy, government, international business, or a related field.
Candidates with prior government experience are preferred.
Strong writing, communication, and organization skills are required.
The selected candidate must be in commutable distance to Washington, DC.
The selected candidate must be willing to work onsite several days per week.
The selected candidate must be available to work a minimum of 30 hours per week for a six-month term beginning in April of 2023

COMPENSATION RANGE TRANSPARENCY: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the hourly base salary rate range applicable for the posted role.
