Employment Type:Full timeShift:Day ShiftDescription:This position is at Athens Internal Medicine Associates. The CMA is responsible for assisting in the delivery and facilitation of clinical care in an efficient and cost effective manner. The CMA assumes responsibility for conducting vital signs, EKGs, and patient teaching adhering to quality standards. This position is responsible for filling out orders under the direction of the physician and obtaining his signature for such. The CMA collects and documents appropriately in medical records and other clinic documentation, enters data into clinic databases, greets patients and responds to inquiries from fellow employees, physicians and patients. The CMA is responsible for making sure the patient charts are in order, greeting and triaging patients, as well as telephone communication with patients. CMA will take the patient back, obtaining weight and vital signs, recording medications, allergies and problems and note in chart. Arranging any follow up testing or procedure ordered by physician/Provider. The CMA may be asked to work in any area in the practice and with any Provider depending on need. CMA will also support physicians in other areas of patient care within the scope of her certification.. Programs and projects may be developed that she will oversee and participate in. Hours required: Mon-Thurs 7:45-5:00, Fri 7:45-1:00, 1 hr lunch.Licensure/Certification/Registration: Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant.
