The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Georgia invites applications for a full-time, limited-term lecturer for introductory physics instruction beginning August 1, 2023.  This is a non-tenure track faculty position. The Department, which currently has 24 faculty members, has a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education.  Candidates should show a commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level and demonstrate potential to enhance teaching pedagogy.  The person hired will teach six courses per academic year, primarily in the Department’s general physics programs.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact with teaching and learning initiatives on campus including the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence to Advance Teaching & Learning Cluster, the Scientists Engaged in Education Research Center, and the Artificial Intelligence for STEM Education Center.
Qualifications:
All candidates must have a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in physics or a related discipline at the time of job offer.  We also seek candidates who have knowledge of and/or a record of employing inclusive and evidence-based instruction, and who have demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in science and education.
