The Institute on Human Development and Disability ( IHDD ), designated as a University Center for Excellence inDevelopmental Disabilities ( UCEDD ),is part of a national network of 68 university centers. IHDD operates with the support and advice of our Community Advisory Council. IHDD can be envisioned as stretching across Georgia, with educational programs and outreach projects touching every corner of the state. IHDD core funding is provided by theUS Department of Health and Human Services, Administration on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. IHDD projects are funded by multiple grants, contracts, and private scholarships. Since 1965, the faculty, staff, and students at IHDD have provided a strong and positive force for social change. IHDD focuses on the strengths and contributions of people with disabilities and conceptualizes disability as a natural part of human existence. Disability issues are explored from infancy through aging.

Master's degree or higher in social science, program evaluation, or a closely-
related field (psychology, human development, public health, social work,
education) from an accredited institution preferred.
Position Summary
The Research and Evaluation Unit ( REU ) is housed at the Institute for Human Development and Disability. REU provides a full range of applied research and program evaluation services to help organizations answer important social questions and help support informed and accountable decision-making. Services that REU provides include designing and conducting formative and summative evaluations, needs assessments, conducting qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method research. REU uses a participatory, utilization-focused, strength-based, and culturally sensitive approach to research and evaluation, as appropriate. The multidisciplinary team of researchers at REU has a pooled experience of over 30 years. This is a newly created position that will serve as a "right arm" to the Director of Research and Evaluation Unit ( REU ) and will play a critical role in helping manage the various program evaluation and research activities. The individual will work closely with the Research and Evaluation Unit ( REU ) director, other team members to develop and implement both quantitative and qualitative research, program evaluations, and needs assessments. The person would be involved in all stages of research or evaluations including proposal/grant development, research/evaluation design, conducting literature reviews, developing data collection measures, sample recruitment, data collection, data analysis, preparing reports, manuscripts, communicating findings to key stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
• Background training in qualitative or quantitative research including conducting literature reviews, developing data collection measures, sample recruitment, data collection, data analysis, preparing reports, manuscripts, communicating findings to key stakeholders.
• Experience in conducting program evaluation or applied research including qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
• Specialization in program evaluation.
• Experience using programs such as Qualtrics, SPSS , Nvivo, or similar applications.

• The position will involve driving to different venues for data collection or to meet potential partners.

Duties/Responsibilities
• Work closely with the Research and Evaluation Unit ( REU ) director and other team members to develop and implement both quantitative and qualitative research, program evaluations, or needs assessments.
• Conduct literature reviews, environmental scans and information synthesis on various topics of focus.
• Assist in developing qualitative or quantitative data collection measures including surveys and key informant interviews.
• Assist with sample recruitment.
• Collect primary data through online or paper surveys, focus groups, or interviews.
• Analyze data using qualitative or quantitative research analysis methods.
• Prepare research or evaluation reports, scientific articles to share findings.
• Data visualizations such as infographics, graphs, and charts to communicate evaluation findings in visually appealing reports.
• Presents research or program evaluation findings at partner meetings and at local, state, and national meetings and conferences to technical and non-technical audiences as needed.
• Assist the RU director in finding grant and foundation opportunities and preparing research grant proposals.
• Works with REU director on other internal evaluation projects.

General Grant Management and Oversight:
• In conjunction with the PI executes project activities to ensure successful completion.
• Reviews timelines and scheduled activities for multiple projects.
• Monitors progress to ensure activities are on track and progressing per the plan.
• Creates progress reports for funding agencies.
• Presents to organizations on the various projects as needed
• Represents the PI and the grant at meetings as needed around the state.
