Primary Work Location: Commissary
Travel: Minimal

Job Summary Develops, implements, and manages food safety and quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production consistent with established standards, customer specifications, legislative requirements and production goals. Manages SQF certification program and FSMA requirements. Demonstrate attributes that show respect, honesty, inclusion, and safety.
Essential Job Duties
Act as the SQF practitioner, Ongoing review of Food safety System, oversee SQF document control.
• Formulate, document, maintain, and enforce quality standards and objectives.
• Create and maintain the following:
• Internal specifications for new products
• Label creation, formatting, and approval – Genesis
• Loading into Label view system for internal printing
• Customer databases:
• Labels
• Surveys
• Certificates of Analysis for Customers
• Internal and External Hold Log
• Customer Complaint log, investigation, resolution, and communication
• Vendor Non-conformance log, corrective actions, and financial results
• Weight data - icing use monitoring
• Mock recalls, summaries, and reviews
• Internal audits
• Pest control program
• Cake pictures on TV screens and Box printer information up to date
• Specification books complete, up to date
• Annual equipment calibration, documenting results
• GMP practices and enforcement, Food Safety culture & other policies in the employee handbook.
• Timecards for hourly team
• Train new Quality control employees, supervise employees engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity.

Provide leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectives.
• Validation of all prerequisite/preventative control programs.
• Document verification
• Environmental Monitoring program
• Kosher Program
• Recording and initiating corrective actions needed.
• Reporting issues that impact food safety or quality immediately including issues brought to your attention by hourly employees.
• Have a working knowledge of:
• Chemical concentration testing and documenting results.
• Allergen testing and documenting results.
• Glass & brittle plastic inspection and documenting results.
• Conducting Rodac plate testing and verifying cleanliness of equipment and facilities to include pre-operational inspections
• Scale calibration and documenting results.
• Inspection of materials: receipt, storage, production, shipment.
• Label printing
• Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Proactively supports the organization’s goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
• Supervisory experience at the hourly employee level
• Certifications required or the ability to complete in an agreed to time frame:
• SQF practitioner
• HACCP
• PCQI/FSMA
• Internal Auditing
• Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Operational knowledge of computer software (EXCEL, WORD, E-mail, Internet, etc.)
Physical Requirements:
• Standing, walking, stooping, crouching, kneeling occasionally, use of hands and arms.
• Light lifting of up to 20 pounds occasionally.
