Job Description
Cox Communications, Inc . is seeking a Senior Manager, Brand Marketing. The successful candidate will be a key driver and champion of Innovation, driving Cox value propositions through differentiating product features and customer experiences that drive customer relationships. This role will work with Consumer Insights to identify opportunities, drive ideation, and validate new ideas. The role will also work with various organizational boundary partners (finance., product management, customer care, and marketing.
The successful candidate will be a passionate, consumer-centric leader with demonstrated experience developing new value propositions, launching new products and re-positioning brands. Strong analytic and strategy skills are a must have and they will need to be well versed in segmentation. They will need to be highly persuasive and have compelling communication skills (written and oral). The role requires the individual to know how to navigate a highly matrixed environment. In short strong teamwork skills are essential. Must be a self-starter, capable of working independently.
The Senior Manager, Brand Innovation reports to the Assistant Vice President of Brand Marketing.
• Works with Consumer Insights to identify consumer opportunities - new products, new product features, new customer experiences
• Co-leads ideation, working with the Director of Brand Marketing, Consumer Insights, and various boundary partners from across the organization as well as external subject matter experts
• Works with Consumer Insights to validate innovation ideas, various boundary partners to ensure feasibility (technical, financial) and develop business cases with bus. ops.
• Ensures all initiatives are consumer-centric, compelling, competitive, and clearly expressed to the market by aligning with colleagues across marketing communications, PR, sales & brand
• Source of updates & knowledge for key initiatives when requests come from M&S leadership
• Takes a leadership role in the Campaign Go to Market (GTM) Planning Process including development of strategy briefs
• BA/BS degree and 8 years of experience in Brand Management, Marketing, Customer Experience Design, Product Management or Strategy OR MS degree and 6 years of related experience OR Ph.D. and 3 years of related experience OR High School Diploma/GED AND 12 years of related experience
• Analytical experience - segmentation, opportunity sizing, forecasting/business modeling and variance analysis
• Experience writing communication briefs, concepts, personas, etc.
• Proven experience in the development and launch of successful new products / value propositions
• Experience developing or managing business building customer experiences
• Demonstrated capability to leverage consumer insights into well-architected value propositions which (a) meet important need gaps in the market and (b) have shown staying power over time
• Excellent leadership, verbal, written, interpersonal, presentation, project management, organization, time management, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization
• Strong preference for experience in CPG brand management, advertising, telecom and technology
• Digital marketing credentials (i.e.: experience working in industries which are digitally mature)
• 2 or more years of experience in a management role
• Hands on experience with analytics including expert-level spreadsheet development, data manipulation
