Clinician
Supervised by: Manager Clinical Services
Supervises: Interns
Hours: 37.5 per week if full-time; 15-22.5 per week part-time (100% victim services)
Basic Purpose: Responsible for providing trauma-based therapeutic services for victims and non-offending family members of youth referred to the CAC for services.
Clinical
• Perform assessment, diagnosis, and treatment in the form of counseling and psychotherapy for CAC referred clients.
• Ensures that the most effective assessment and treatment approaches are utilized for the client/family.
• Implements theoretical approaches focused on trauma-informed treatment and other agency approved approaches.
• Document services and acquire all necessary information to accurately complete all agency and funder required reports, reimbursement requests, and other needed materials.
• Coordinate clinical referrals with other agency staff as appropriate.
• May conduct forensic interviews as defined in the Child Forensic Interview Specialist’s job description if the candidate dually meets the education, training, experience and the other criterion in cases where there would be no conflict in service provision
• Provide testimony, upon subpoena, on behalf of the victim receiving services.
• Complies with regulatory and clinical standards. Provides quality services for clients.
• Abides by CAC’s policies, procedures, and competencies.
• Maintains licensure and relevant certifications; attends trainings to stay up to date in the clinical field.
Leadership
• Serves as a member of the Child Abuse Review Teams and works collaboratively to ensure all clinical updates are prepared and complete.
• Update supervisors on program development and implementation.
• Research grants and private funders to support program continuation.
• Compile and prepare statistical reports as required.
• Engage in program growth, development and evaluation, including special projects, budgets, annual work plans, and analysis of trends in program services.
• Maintain appropriate documentation of all assessment, diagnosis, counseling and psychotherapy provided for all clients to ensure continuity of services in the future.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, or related field.
• Preferred 1-3 years of experience in mental health treatment, experience with telehealth is a plus.
• TF-CBT and/or EMDR training preferred; if not previously trained, must be willing to do so in one of these models within 6 months of hire.
• Attendance at after hours functions to support fundraising efforts required; occasional critical situations within the agency can arise. (full-time clinicians should plan to attend the Johnny CASA and 2 other fundraising events; half-time/22.5+ clinicians should plan to attend the Johnny CASA and 1 other fundraising event)
• Excellent communication skills – interpersonal, verbal, presentation and written (also with ability to meet required standards of documentation).
• Ability to work with a team to include other clinicians, staff, community partners, and non-offending families.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records, experience with Therapy Notes a plus.
• Experience with grant writing and reporting preferred.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
LCSW, LPC, or eligible
This service is supported using grants funds and/or funds from licensed clinical services provision. Please note, for positions which are solely grant funded, if grant funds are not provided to the Children’s Advocacy Programs of the Blue Ridge, Inc., employment may be discontinued.
