Responsibilities:
• Facilitate the development of written career plans.
• Guide participants in selecting and designing appropriate education and training options.
• Assist participants in accessing education and training in their chosen career pathway.
• Assist participants in the application process and acclimation to ensure ongoing success.
• Provide job placement assistance upon completion of training.
• Provide guidance and support for a period of 90 days post program completion to assist with career advancement in the career pathway, to include but not limited to, additional training.
• Design and implement an approach that allows for ongoing contact with participants in order to help them access needed academic, financial, and social supports.
• Become knowledgeable about the degree and certificate programs at the community college and local training providers.
• Provide check-ins and regular meetings with groups or cohorts of participants.
• Provide ongoing assessment of participants' academic and personal needs and barriers in order to determine appropriate support services.
• Attend meetings and professional development opportunities.
• Keep current with new developments and knowledge in adult learning techniques.
• Perform other duties as directed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or experience in coaching or training in an organizational setting; or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Excellent written and oral communications and presentations skills required. Experience training in an adult learning environment preferred. Experience with online learning a plus.
• Must have a valid state of Virginia driver's license and be able to provide proof of insurance. Additionally, 3+ point DMV record required to drive company vehicle.
