***** OPENINGS FOR FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD SHIFTS****SUMMARY:Renders good nursing care and assistance to patients assigned to the unit; assists in supervising auxiliary personnel responsible for helping maintain accurate patient records according to facility policy.SPECIFIC DUTIES:In addition to basic CNA duties:Know your Fire, Safety, and Disaster Manual, and facility plan for evacuation, and Be Prepared to Implement it.Assist the Supervisor by participating in all activities of nursing service to ensure good patient care.When in charge of the facility, assume the full responsibility of the charge nurse. Some of the specific duties involved are:Meet the schedule for patient care and continuous in-service education.Performs nursing techniques for the comfort and well-being of the patient.Prepares equipment and assists the physician during treatments or examinations.Administers prescribed medications orally and Insulin by injection. Also, duties are described in Med Tech class.Changes or assists the physician in changing dressings, and cleaning wounds and incisions.Takes vital signs to detect deviations from normal and gage process of the patient.Observes records and reports to nurse or physician patient’s condition, reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.Maintains patient’s medical records on nursing observations and actions taken, such as; medications and treatments given reactions, tests, intake and emission of liquids and solids, temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure. Medication AideResponsible to access need of Resident to have a nurse come to check Resident, if symptomatic.Observes the emotional stability of patients express interest in their progress and prepare them for continuing care after discharge.Explains procedures and treatments ordered to gain patient’s cooperation and allay apprehension. J. Must report to on-coming Med Tech, at the change of each tour of duty, from cardex. Also must check narcotics with on—coming tech, if applicable.4. Assumes responsibility for promoting good relationships among co-workers, other departments, patients, their families, and visitors. 5. Be conservative with supplies and equipment. 6. Assumes responsibility for her professional growth and development through participation in in-service programs and by attending staff meetings. 7. It is the responsibility of all staff nurses to participate in the orientation of new personnel. 8. Responsibility to see all work completed on your shift, related to patient care. Responsible for making sure laundry is completed on your shift.Perform other duties, as may be required, to ensure a high level of patient safety.Replace call-ins or stay to cover yourself.EDUCATION:Certified Nursing Assistant-Graduate of Nurse Aide Training.
