Description:
The Brokerage Supervisor is responsible supporting the Brokerage Department by ensuring timely and accurate filing of entries, in-bonds, and other US Customs filing requirements. The Brokerage Supervisor will also ensure excellence in customer service and optimizing the quality, productivity and profitability of the team.
• Works to maintain full compliance and adherence with US Customs Brokerage Regulations.
• Monitors and ensures team’s performance in line with DACHSER’s compliance policy and department goals.
• Provides guidance and leadership to the Entry Writers within the department.
• Communicates and conducts regular training with Brokerage Department based on new regulations and policies of DACHSER.
• Provides clear instruction to team to ensure timely and orderly file flow including release, billing, and auditing of file prior to statement date.
• Conducts regular entry audits to ensure accuracy of documents and correct submission to US Customs.
• Monitors problem files and ensures corrective action implemented as needed.
• Supports local sales efforts with timely responses to emails and rate requests.
• Assists in managing the Brokerage Department staff, including overall responsibility for performance management, career development and disciplinary action.
• Performs other duties as required and assigned.
Requirements:

Customs Brokerage License required.
• BS/BA degree preferred or equivalent related work experience.
• 5 years of experience working as an Entry Writer with progressive management responsibility preferred.
• Strong knowledge and experience with Customs Regulations.
• Robust analytical and problem solving skills.
• Stellar team-building, planning, and organizational skills with proven reliability.
• Desire and ability to provide excellent customer service while adhering to US laws and regulations as well as company policy. Position will interact with customers by phone, email and in-person frequently.
• Professional demeanor, including excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Windows programs, specifically Word and Excel.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
No heavy lifting is expected; although exertion of up to 20 pounds of force may be required on occasion.
Manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment, such as computers, copiers, fax machines, etc.
Sitting for extended periods of time is common.
Hearing and vision within average range to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.
This position is performed in a traditional office setting.
Travel may be required periodically.
