At AbbVie, the mission of Strategic Global Labeling (SGL) is to design and deliver scientifically accurate and optimized content for global product labeling to allow healthcare providers, caregivers, and patients to make informed decisions regarding the benefits and risks of AbbVie’s products. SGL develops comprehensive global labeling strategy and incorporates the operating principle of “Label as Driver†into the project team’s way of working and decision making. SGL develops and maintains target product labels, company core data sheet (CCDS), US and EU prescribing information and patient labeling, and materials that support the safe and effective use of AbbVie’s products. Through implementation of CCDS, SGL ensures consistency and scientific rigor in local labels worldwide. The SGL intern will be provided with the opportunity to fulfill broad regulatory labeling responsibilities for development and on-market products, in accordance with applicable laws, global health authority regulations, and company policies and procedures. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:** - Gain knowledge and understanding of the drug development process and the role of labeling in the lifecycle of a product - Understand the evolution of labeling strategy from development through label negotiations with health authorities - Learn AbbVie’s Global Labeling processes for authoring and facilitating development of CCDS, US and EU labeling for products in development and marketed products in AbbVie’s portfolio - Gain understanding of the downstream uses and impact of labeling including implementation in various materials and labeling artwork processes - Meet with/shadow team members within the labeling group and in other regulatory functions to broaden knowledge of Regulatory Affairs, per interest and availability - Lead project to transition existing label documents to a new format - Demonstrate facilitation and presentation skills necessary to present label document transitions and gain alignment in cross-functional matrix product teams - Contribute to other projects as assigned - Support local affiliates with implementation of core labeling information into local labels worldwide, as requested - Summarize internship experience at staff meeting and other forums - Participate in organized intern activities and service projects as desired **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** - Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PharmD in Pharmacy, Biomedical, Life Sciences, Regulatory Science or related field - Must be enrolled in university during the internship period - Expected graduation date between August 2023 - August 2025 - Excellent verbal and written communication skills including proofreading and editing skills - Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office Tools) **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** - Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills - Ability to plan, organize and handle multiple projects simultaneously - Detail-oriented - Ability to proactively work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment **BENEFITS AND AMENITIES** - Competitive pay - Travel, transportation and lodging support for eligible students **EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY** At AbbVie, we value bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds to develop new and innovative solutions for patients.
