Job Description HSE Associate
This position reports directly and works under the direction of the HSE Manager. The HSE Associate provides leadership in development and maintaining RWDC Athens Plant facility, safety, and environmental goals, this includes but not limited to:

·       Collect data and provides feedback on HSE and training programs
·       Assist in the development and participates in HSE campaign
·       Implement HSE audit program
Responsibilities:
·       Proactively, conduct, address, and report HSE observations consistently through shift to ensure safety behavior throughout the facility.
·       Inspect facility to evaluate operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
·       Document on safe activities by using the EHS Insight software, SOAR card program and other resources provided by department.
·       Participates as a member of the HSE committee and is available as a safety champion resource.
·       Offers immediate job training on proper lifting techniques as well as other safety techniques where necessary.
·       Assist in validate new and existent equipment and safety checks.
·       Ensure that team members and contractors follow safe work practices and continue wearing appropriate PPE properly throughout the             facility.
·       Responsible to develop and maintain PPE inventory.
·       Conduct and design various checklist and inspections (fire equipment, PPE, forklift, hazcom, lab, SWPPP and SPCC, etc)
·       Work with production, warehousing and labs, leadership to ensure compliance with HSE regulations policies and procedures.
·       Investigate both near misses and work-related injuries assigned by manager or per shift. Prepare reports to include CAPAs and                      communicate via mandatory safety alerts.
·       Review incident reports with department manager and/or leadership.
·       Perform hazard analysis and abatement reviews.
·       Assist the HSE manager with report on root cause analysis as needed and follow ups on corrective action for their designated shift or              departments.
·       Support and participate in all emergency activities mandated by the HSE manager.
·       Conduct onboarding and refresher training as needed.
·       Performed daily, weekly, monthly, and annually HSE inspections and checks on safety emergency equipment. Develop new HSE                    checklist.
·       Assist HSE manager with administrative duties related to workers compensation, medical records, OSHA and EPA compliance, etc.
·       Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Job Qualifications
·       General high school degree.
·       Minimum of two years in an HSE related position.
·       Mostly experience working in manufacturing, chemical, biotech, lab or construction driven environment.
·       Position will be assigned 2nd-3rd shifts and must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Completed licenses, certificates, and/or registrations:
OSHA-501 course or OSHA-511, First Aid/CPR and AED, Forklift, Fit tester for respiratory program, RCRA (Hazardous Waste).
Preferred licenses, certificates, and/or registrations:
BCSP, ASP (Associate Safety Professional) certification, ISO 45001, must have completed the DOT Hazardous Materials required, HAZWOPER Initial (40 or 24 hour) and annual 8-hour refresher required. Train the trainer preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
·       Proficient in MS Office software programs.
·       Strong interpersonal, communication, influencing, planning, organization, and time management skills.
·       Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National            Fire Protection Association (NFPA) life safety code, Department of Transportation (DOT), and 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)              1910, General Industry, 49 CFR Hazmat Transportation Regulations or specialized/technical knowledge.
·       Problem-solving skills.
·       Ability to explain difficult concepts and persuade others to adopt a point of view.
