Job Summary:
The Box Office Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting with the operations of the Box Office department at the Meow Wolf Grapevine Exhibit. Major duties include supervision of box office staff and daily box office operations as directed by the Box Office Manager. Reporting to the Box Office Manager, the Box Office Assistant Manager will ensure the profitability of operations by effectively managing all business aspects of the front-of-house operations such as ticketing, guest service, POS, coat check, and management of box office staff.
Job Responsibilities:
• Assist with managing labor, productivity, quality control, and safety measures as established and set for the Operations Division and the site specifically.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities by company policies and applicable laws.
• Encourage and maintain internal and cross-departmental communication.
• Assist with training staff to provide a memorable and uniquely Meow Wolf level of service to guests.
• Models and enforces proper cash management protocols by delivering POS training to staff and following company policies for cash handling and cash room compliance.
• Assist Box Office Manager with the supervision of Box Office Associates.
• The ability to perform any role within the Box Office area.
• Assist with creating effective schedules to ensure work centers are well-staffed during peak hours.
• Providing feedback and reviews for all Box Office staff, maintaining high-quality staff performance.
• Assist with making projections for hiring needs.
• Assist with recommending, creating, and communicating policies and procedures.
• Maintaining knowledge of events, special programs, and projects and communicating them to the staff.
• Tracking fluctuations in visitation numbers and adjusting staffing levels accordingly.
• Set and maintain high standards of organization and cleanliness throughout operational areas of responsibility.
• Directly support all site initiatives including, but not limited to, the role-playing element required of all staff members when interacting with guests.
• Assist in managing, reviewing, and signing off on payroll for all hourly employees.
• Assist in managing the department budget.
• Actively listen to and resolve Guest concerns.
• Respond to injuries and emergencies appropriately.
• Recommending, creating, and communicating policies and procedures.
• Maintaining knowledge of events, special programs, and projects and communicating them to the staff.
• Tracking fluctuations in visitation numbers and adjusting staffing levels accordingly.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in entertainment/hospitality/operations environment.
• Proven work experience as an Assistant Box Office Manager or similar leadership role.
• Hands-on experience with ticketing software and point-of-sale systems.
• Strong customer service skills and a welcoming demeanor are required.
• An interest in the arts.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Experience training staff and identifying training needs.
Desired Qualifications:
• Prior work experience in an exhibit, attraction, museum, or other public space.
• Adult + Child + Infant CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
• Bilingual, especially but not limited to English and Spanish.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Work Environment:
This position works primarily in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines, and small and/or enclosed spaces. This position will also be managing the entry experience, which will require time outdoors including summer and winter seasons.
Physical Demands:
• Moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
• Remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Positioning or moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule which includes weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does require supervisory responsibility.
