Job Summary Repairs, calibrates, and maintains all types of basic clinical equipment technologies, devices, instruments, and systems under relatively close supervision. # Job Responsibilities Repairs, installs, maintains, calibrates, and inspects a diverse range of therapeutic and diagnostic biomedical instrumentation and electronic equipment. Performs preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices, and systems. Diagnoses and corrects system and equipment malfunctions. Maintains documentation on new equipment, inspections, and equipment repairs and failures. Responds to service requests and performs problem assessment, troubleshooting, correction, and documentation. Provides technical assistance and instruction on equipment operation and maintenance to personnel. Performs and/or assists with the installation of specialized equipment and systems. Schedules and oversees third-party repair as necessary. Consults with and educates operators and management on specialized biomedical equipment and systems. Performs related duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate#s degree or higher in Biomedical Engineering required upon hire OR Associate#s degree or higher in Electronic Engineering required upon hire OR Associate#s degree or higher in related field required upon hire A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree. No experience required No licensure/certification/registration required Skills and Attributes Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under direct supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Learning and applies knowledge at a basic level relying heavily on senior staff for troubleshooting.
