We are currently looking for an Environmental Specialist II, III, or Senior for our KY, TX, MS, LA office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Boardwalk seeks an Environmental Specialist to support its efforts to implementing programs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This person will join a group of air permitting and compliance specialists responsible for overseeing the monitoring and reporting of all emissions as well as implementing greenhouse gas emissions reduction efforts. This position can report to any location across the Boardwalk Operational System.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting ongoing Boardwalk's greenhouse gas management program, methane reduction strategies, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) program. Additionally, the candidate will support internal Boardwalk teams by staying abreast of current greenhouse gas/methane policy, legislation, greenhouse gas monitoring protocols, and regulations and reporting how such things could impact Boardwalk Operations. Duties also include coordinating the timely and accurate collection, calculation, validation, and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2) data, resolve data discrepancies, and provide suggestions to Management for improving data collection and reporting. This role will also support Boardwalk's technical objectives in ONE Future, EPA Natural Gas Star, and INGAA.
Other job duties include: tracking and communicating Boardwalk's greenhouse gas reporting metrics to Management, leading efforts in the preparation of EPA greenhouse gas reports, scheduling and tracking site methane leak surveys, supporting all efforts in the use of emerging air emissions monitoring technologies, and supporting the Environmental Team with NSPS OOOOa compliance.
This position will report to the Manager of Air within the Environmental Group at Boardwalk. The successful candidate will have direct visibility to various Boardwalk disciplinary teams and across the entire spectrum of Boardwalk personnel. Excellent verbal and written skills are required as well as the ability and interest in progressing GHG Emissions efforts for Boardwalk. The successful candidate will review, stay update, and present potential impacts of current and ever changing environmental regulations and how their implementation could impact Boardwalk.
The majority of the work will be out of one of Boardwalk offices along our pipeline system, however travel will be required to other field locations, as well as to Corporate Offices in Houston, Texas and Owensboro, Kentucky to assist with the planning and implementation of greenhouse gas emissions strategies.
Open to other office locations across the system.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
* 2+ years of experience in an air quality related role within the Energy industry (preferably in the Natural Gas sector)
* Demonstrated knowledge in the Clean Air Act, GHG calculations and inventories, Title V compliance requirements, and air compliance
* Ability to interpret regulations in order to provide sound recommendations on application/ implementation of related policies and practices
* Proven leadership and strategic thinking skills
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills - experience presenting to executive teams
* Current working knowledge of relevant environmental agencies (Federal & State)
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Studies, natural science or closely related field
* Willing and able to travel 25% of the time on a yearly basis

REQUIRED EDUCATION
* BS in Science or Environmental
