Under general supervision, the Building Inspector Supervisor (Hazardous Material) performs inspections for compliance with policy, procedures, state and federal regulations and standards to ensure environmental health, safety, and/or compliance.
Develops procedures, methods and programs on safety and health issues.
Interprets and administers regulatory issues, technical issues, and analytical data to document compliance with environmental health and safety laws and regulations to ensure safety.
Maintains knowledge of changes in state, OSHA, NFPA and other safety codes and regulations as applicable.
May perform training, data management and related equipment maintenance.
Performs reviews of certifications, safety surveys and inspections.
Plans and coordinates inspections, audits and monitors instruction of assigned facilities/sites for procedural compliance.
Provides guidance and consultation regarding hazardous materials, fire safety inspections, facility safety and other related activities.
Supervises and plans work of assigned staff and coordinates work for specific programs.
Utilizes a variety of monitoring, sampling, and analytical equipment and instruments to gather and enter data records.
Performs other duties assigned.
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience OR High school diploma or GED AND Four years of related experience OR One year of experience required at the lower level Safety & Compliance Spec 3 (RCP012) or position equivalent.
