Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of current best practices in sexual health education, preferably with respect to the developmental tasks unique to the college-age cohort. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work independently. Flexibility and able to manage multiple tasks within a dynamic work environment. Strong work ethic, and team-oriented player. Proven record of successful educational outreach and program delivery. Excellent organizational, communication, collaboration, consensus-building and interpersonal skills.
Position Summary
Under general direction of HP leadership, the Healthy Relationship/Sexual Health and Well-being Coordinator has overall responsibility for program oversight, coordination and implementation of healthy relationship and sexual health education programs and participates in other well-being initiatives. The coordinator will be responsible for assessment, capacity building, planning, implementing, and evaluating activities associated with the university prevention and well-being priorities. This position will train, direct and supervise graduate interns and mentor an outstanding group of student peer educators. The Coordinator will also serve as a member of the on-call advocate team for the UGA campus. Works some nights and weekends to interact directly with students and facilitate programs.

Work compassionately with individuals who may have experienced trauma. Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), or eligible and intent to become certified.

Transport light weight equipment (computer and program materials) across campus and to offsite presentations.

Duties/Responsibilities
Develop, implement and evaluate population-based well-being interventions targeting social well-being, healthy relationship programming, and sexual health education.
Utilizing current and relevant research and assessment, develop and implements programs and initiatives that are part of a comprehensive approach to prevention, early intervention, and student well-being with a focus on sexual health development and education, healthy relationships, effective communication, interpersonal violence prevention, and pro-healthy behaviors, including the healthy majority. Develop and implement group specific trainings to students and campus/community partners. Implements the safer sex supply distribution program for UGA students. Conduct individual consultations and BASICS sessions with students on a variety of wellness topics utilizing techniques including but not limited to Motivational Interviewing and Wellness Coaching strategies. Participates in summer orientation programming. Co-facilitate campus Active Bystander (You Matter) Intervention Program with other Health Promotion team members and campus partners to create a safer and caring community by increasing the number of active upstanders on campus. Effectively deliver culturally competent, social justice-oriented education to diverse audiences.
Percentage of time 65 Duties/Responsibilities
Collaboration, community outreach, peer education and assessment.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach to student well-being, with a focus on sexual health and healthy relationships. Provide mentorship and direction for peer educators including recruitment, training and programming efforts. Supervise graduate student interns. In collaboration with Assistant Director, build and maintain effective relationships with key campus and community partners including faculty, staff and local community stakeholders in Athens Clarke County. Utilize qualitative and quantitative data to inform programs and initiatives. Serve on various committees including opportunities in regional and national organizations (NASPA, ACPA, ACHA). Collaborate with peer institutions to identify and share best practices. Serve as a resource for campus partners regarding their work related to well-being, including sexual health education and healthy relationships. Serves in the on-call advocate rotation for the campus.
