Primary duties for this position are lab-based and include assisting with our Cervid herd health project needs. The Cervid herd health projects are seasonal, and duties for this position will transition to other areas as needed. Other potential duties may include the following: assistance with laboratory organization, maintenance, stocking, and cleaning; assisting the diagnostic service by trimming tissues for histopathology; sample handling, preparation, and submission; organization of tissue slides and blocks; laundry; disposal of biological waste and miscellaneous janitorial duties; and assistance with various research projects as needed. Prospective applicants should demonstrate a motivation to learn and an interest in conservation and wildlife health.
