Organization Overview Children First, Inc. engages families in our community and the courts to promote safe, stable and nurturing living environments for children. Safe Care, a program of Children First, is a service provider for the Department of Family and Children Services in Region 5. Our staff provides basic parenting education to parents with children under the age of five, to enhance and maintain familial bonds, support case plan goals, and provide families in crisis with resources to heal and grow. Position Overview The Safe Care Provider works with families to offer the Safe Care parenting curriculum. This position is 40 hours per week with evening and weekend hours required. Responsibilities Coordination and provision of supervised visitation and therapeutic parenting services.
Provide quality SafeCare Home Visitation Services Maintain fidelity with SafeCare through monthly coaching with NSTRC and reporting Maintain organized, accurate, and timely electronic case records in compliance with Agency protocols, ensuring data integrity for reporting needs Establish and maintain positive relationships with referral sources and other stakeholders Attend staffing's, Family Team Meetings, and other meetings with and for the families you serve Provide professional testimony in court proceedings (when subpoenaed) about Safe Care families’ parenting progress Maintain strict confidentiality regarding families and services Advocate for families within the community Ensure compliance with all grants and contracts for SafeCare services Provide timely and accurate documentation of services for DFCS and Grant Reporting Provide supervision and support to volunteers
Additional Responsibilities
* Establish and maintain effective, collegial working relationships with Children First staff, board and volunteers, as well as with representatives of the courts, attorney, community and education service providers.
* Participate in agency fundraisers with an ability to speak comfortably and engage in the recruitment of clients and volunteers.
* Engage in on-going continuing education to remain up to date on Child Welfare and Home Visiting trends, understanding the need for ongoing supervision, self-study, and research to improve practice standards and program knowledge.
* Other duties as assigned; non-essential job duties, non-related responsibilities and other tasks as required by the Program Director, Executive Director and Agency may be assigned from time to time;

Qualifications and Requirements
* Racial minorities, Spanish-English bilingual candidates, and people with personal cases with child and family welfare strongly encouraged to apply
* High School Diploma or GED Experience in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, Public Health and/or personal experience with child protective services or child displacement preferred
* Have knowledge in the areas of domestic violence, substance abuse, family dynamics and child development
* Strong working knowledge of community resources in (Clarke, Oconee, Jackson, and Barrow counties)
* Willingness to undergo a background check and share process of repair for any charges
* Flexibility with hours, including some evenings and weekends, with an ability to independently manage one’s workload and schedule
* Have reliable transportation and ability to schedule some travel out of town
* Computer Skills: Proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office programs, data management, and mainstream social networking applications with the ability to learn and incorporate new technology and software
