The Applications Engineer contributes to the success of the company by driving the growth and profitability of the companys product lines, working closely with our customers and vendors to ensure that the products being developed, launched, and quoted allow Zalkin to compete successfully and effectively in the marketplace. The position reports to the VP of Sales and is located in ourStatham, GAoffices.
• Qualify the information received by the Sales Managers, checking preliminary details such as containers, caps sizes, and description are presented together with primary process data such as production speed, ambient condition, etc.
• Qualify prospective customer object details within the system to understand the right machine technology to quote
• Leverage ZALKIN FRANCE based on project complexity.
• Strengthen the project evaluation process to understand the risks and benefits and decide to quote or decline.
• Quote services for machine installation together with packing and freight
• Prepare preliminary design proposal(s) including concept layout drawings using AutoCAD and provide technical documentation to sales administrator.
• Contact vendors to request quotations for products and services offered by third-party suppliers.
• Work with Operations Departments (USA and FRANCE) to confirm lead time for the proposed system.
• Build technical & commercial added value presentations on Zalkin machinery catalogs by Markets and Key Accounts.
• Maintain & update machine drawing files for proposals, quote templates, sales and technical tools.
• Follow up with Sales Managers and Technical Department about ongoing activities for quotes and opportunities.
• Assist with pricing strategy and create price lists.
• Develop time to quote (TTQ) KPIs and follow up.
• Travel to customer sites for project evaluation as needed, including measuring to define ranges and interaction with all levels of staff.
• Attend training and meetings as required.
• Assist marketing with required technical documentation, pictures, videos & trade shows.
• Participate in project postmortems and lost opportunities to identify areas for improvement; make recommendations based on findings.
• Document historical ZAM machinery knowledge and solutions.
• Start ZC lab activity in ZAM.
• Work with Operations and Technical Teams from ZEEMA and ZAM to develop a testing method for given applications.
• Evaluate budget and pricing strategy and create price lists for internal and external ZC Lab services.
Who were looking for.
• Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent proved project management experience and documented success
• Knowledge of the packaging and capping industry and applications
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office skills required and CAD software knowledge)
• Familiar with PROMACH CRM (Salesforce)
• Occasional travel (both domestically and internationally)
• Ability to conduct business in an ethical, successful manner
• Self-motivated, strong desire to achieve personal and professional growth
• Strong written and verbal communication and organization skills in English and French
• Able to effectively communicate with all types of staff, including technical, professional, and upper management.
• Good problem-solving skills and independent judgment
• Practical time management skills need to understand & meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently & in a group environment
