Job Description
*SUMMARY*The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible to supervise and coordinates the activities of workers engaged in inbound and outbound logistical operations. This will include verifying and recording information on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing product for shipment. The coordinator will also be responsible to communicate and liaise with Customers to ensure on-time delivery.*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Review shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules in accordance with customer demand.Oversee incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and verify condition of raw-materials and manufactured products.Determine routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits of states.Communicate and coordinate with Production Manager regarding the movement of manufactured parts.Oversee and direct the preparation of parts for shipment to Customers.Work with Production Manager to prepare items for shipment to ensure proper flow of products through the shipping process.Monitor, track and maintain record of past-due and unfilled orders.Issue written and oral work instructions to the shipping & receiving team.Maintain and manage logistics to outside processing services.*SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES*Supervise, coach, and direct employees engaged in Shipping & Receiving duties. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.*QUALIFICATIONS*To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.*EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE*High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.*Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience overseeing shipping and receiving functions*.Previous experience leading and motivating a team.The position requires excellent follow-up and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.*LANGUAGE SKILLS*Ability to read and understand written documents such as safety rules, department procedure and company policies. Good written oral and written communication skills with the ability to write routine reports and email correspondence as well as the ability to effectively communicate with other employees and customers.*MATHEMATICAL SKILLS*Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.*REASONING ABILITY*Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.*OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES: *This individual must have good computer skills with experience in Micro Soft office including Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to create reports and communicate key information.
