Job Summary
Manage sales and marketing strategies and rollout of new product lines within a district, state or region. Ensure the delivery of sales and account introduction activities in partnership with account and sales executives. May be responsible for the development and implementation of sales strategies along with Director of Sales and Marketing. This position requires operation of a Company Vehicle or a Personal Vehicle and such operation is done consistently more than 20% of the average work week. If selected for this position, Core & Main will run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report. A requirement of this position is an acceptable MVR report.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
• Calling on existing customers and promoting our new service offerings
• Generating new market leads
• Determining, ordering, and tracking all necessary parts and tools for customer orders
• Performing start-ups and commissioning on Fire Pumps nationwide
• Hiring and managing new domestic technicians as we grow
• Provide both internal and external technical support for pump systems, including phone and email support
• Aggressively seek and develop new business opportunities profitably while maintaining a pump sales database. .
Nature and Scope
• Displays the highest level of critical thinking and analysis in bringing successful resolution to high impact, complex, and/or cross department problems. Makes prompt, sound decisions when faced with complex and often contradictory alternatives that result in successful outcomes.
• Operates with considerable latitude. Situations may have little or no precedent requiring original or new concepts or approaches without guidance from others. Reaches decisions under conditions of uncertainty.
• Develops or engages/directs others in developing innovative solutions to important, highly complex strategic and operating problems; cross department considerations are often present.
Work Environment
• Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
• Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.
Minimum Qualifications
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older
• Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable
Education and Experience
• Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline. Generally 8+ years of experience in related field; certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 5+ years of experience in related field. Certification is required in some areas.
Preferred Qualifications
• 5+ years in Fire Pumps and Mechanical Systems.
• 5+ years of experience and knowledge, including performing start-ups and commissioning Fire Pumps.
• Candidates must have in-depth knowledge of Firetrol, Tornatech, Eaton, etc.
• Have the ability to educate designers, construction workers, and company employees on fire pump rules and regulations.
• The candidate must have experience in solution selling and be comfortable with C-Suite conversations/relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects - prioritization, planning, and time management
• Strong influencing and negotiation skills with an ability to close new business in cross-functional teams.
• Have proven experience quoting service materials, equipment, maintenance, repairs, etc.
