Career Area:EngineeringJob Description:Come join our team at Caterpillar in Athens, Georgia an Automated Welding Supervisor! This role sits in a modern and highly automated factory supporting 48 robotic arms designed to weld structures for our Mini Excavator and Small Track Type Tractor products.  In this role, you will be responsible for the programming and operation of these robotic cells while supervising robot technicians through three shifts. This position will draw heavily from your technical robotic and welding experience as we maintain current processes and develop innovative ways of automated welding.  Development of welding robots, which is relatively new to our industry, will also be included in this job!The Building Construction Products division at Caterpillar is a global organization responsible for design, manufacture and support Caterpillar's line of small, versatile construction equipment and Work Tools (attachments).  In our Athens, GA facility we manufacture Cat® Mini Hydraulic Excavators and Small Track-Type Tractors (STTT).  In this role, you will:Provide technical expertise to the project team on robotic programming and functionsProvide supervision and technical direction to hourly, salaried, and management personnel engaged in design, development or research activities related to a single technology, component, product, or sub-process which accomplish product maintenance and new product introduction objectivesBe accountable for conceptual design, development of product and/or process, data analysis & extraction, failure resolution & prevention, and requirements managementProvide technical project management, development of product, internal and external requirements management, and cost-value managementWork with immediate work group, project team, suppliers, internal and external customers and the market to impact a single product, process or factoryHave accountability for all fabrications facility robotic programming and robot technicians.To be successful in this role, you must bring (Basic Qualifications):Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent technology degree).Three or more years of manufacturing or industrial engineering experienceTop Candidates Will Also Have:Two years’ experience using CAD software to create 3D models and drawings (Creo, SolidWorks, or Inventor preferredThree or more years of experience and fluency programming welding robots using the Fanuc programming languageSix Sigma Greenbelt or higherWelding/Fabrications experience in a manufacturing environment.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.Industrial robotics programming experienceRelocation assistance is available for this positionISE is not available for this position.How We Support You (Employee Benefits)Our goal at Caterpillar is for you to have a rewarding career.
