Job Description Athens Technical College in Athens, GA seeks to hire part-time Campus Police Officers . The Campus Police Officers will be required to provide protection of life and property through the enforcement of established laws and the policies of Athens Technical College. The police officer will perform within accordance of all federal, state, county, and municipal laws, as well as college policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Patrol the campus and buildings on foot and/or in a vehicle in order to deter crime, provide safety, security and assistance to students, staff and visitors on campus
• Enforce traffic and parking regulations.
• Investigate disturbances, suspicious circumstances, traffic accidents or violation of college regulations when prompted by phone calls, alarms, citizens' requests, or officers' observations. Talk with individuals to determine causes of disturbances or accidents.
• Take reports and accurately complete forms to record incidents.
• Direct traffic at campus events using barricades, traffic cones, traffic vests, and flashlights.
• Must be familiar with the campus safety manual and be able to address emergencies on campus.
• Participate in training activities.
• Perform related work as assigned.
• Work closely with the Athens Technical College Police Chief, Police Supervisor, Campus Administrators and Security Officers.

Skills & Requirements Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Georgia POST Certified with Basic Law Enforcement Mandate in ‘Good Standing’
• Must have general law enforcement authority in the jurisdiction of the assigned campus
Preferred Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED
• 21 years of age
• Knowledge of the Jeanne Clery Act and BIT
• Campus Police experience.
