Preferred Qualifications Position Summary
The Video Specialist's role is to develop engaging digital content in the form of videos (promotional, explainer, social, narrative) consistent with the University of Georgia's brand style and integrated marketing and communications initiatives. This employee is responsible for creating video storytelling projects using motion graphics, audio design, video recording and editing, and interactive media to produce compelling and engaging visual assets.
This incumbent will work on projects for the Division of Marketing & Communications' priorities from conception to completion, including pre-production, production, post-production, and archiving. This employee will have proven experience with videography, video editing, sound editing, color editing, and motion graphics. They will work as a member of the creative services team to produce high-quality visual assets that represent the University of Georgia brand, support integrated media and marketing efforts, and meet high visual standards.
The Video Specialist needs to apply visual communication principles, theories, and best practices to all visual assets produced and remain current and up to date on emerging technologies and delivery platforms and methods.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
* Strong knowledge of web-based video production and short-form storytelling.
* Manage multiple projects at once and work under tight deadlines.
* Proficient with Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and professional video editing software (Avid, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects, and Final Cut Pro).
* Work successfully in a team environment as well as independently.
* Online portfolio of video work.

Duties/Responsibilities
Duties/Responsibilities
* Field and studio video production assignments.
* Shooting, concepting, editing, creating graphics, editing sound and color, as well as tagging and archiving on videography storage system(s).
Percentage of time 70 Duties/Responsibilities
* Project management, planning and logistics for assignments, includes contacting clients, arranging schedules, reserving equipment.
* Collaborate with others to create storyboards and write scripts.
Percentage of time 15 Duties/Responsibilities
* Manage video team's studio and shared equipment.
* Perform annual equipment inventory duties as assigned by the division's IT manager.
* Serve as member of the division's studio's management team.
