Purpose
First United Bank is seeking an experienced and well-rounded Marketing and Public Relations professional whose primary role is to improve bank performance by leading the brand marketing, advertising, and public relations strategies, and programs of the bank.
Qualifications
The applicant should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field. Must have 3-5 years of demonstrated Marketing and Public Relations experience, preferably in a bank setting. Must have a strong conceptual knowledge of fundamental marketing and public relations principles and practices. Should also possess strong marketing background, both strategic and tactical. Excellent communication skills necessary – verbal, written and oral presentation. Proven experience in developing digital strategies and a strong understanding of digital marketing (website, social media, content marketing, search engine optimization, etc.) and how to apply it to financial services.
The selected applicant will clearly advocate the bank’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Core purpose. They will also promote and support the Bank’s culture and commitment to meeting customers’ needs with timely, responsive, and exceptional service and value in accordance with the Bank’s customer service standards. Must have an ability to work alongside other leaders in the bank in advancing our brand purpose and story and building relationships with all our key stakeholders.
Primary Duties
The primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
• Adheres to the Bank’s Mission, Vision, Core Values and Core Purpose while providing customers with timely, responsive, and exceptional service in accordance with the Bank’s customer service standards.
• Championing our brand and elevating our brand awareness among our stakeholders including employees, customers, prospects and our community partners and key influencers.
• Managing our brand messaging, look, and tone via our website, social media properties, advertising, and collateral materials.
• Managing our agencies and marketing vendors (e.g., data companies) in the development of all forms of marketing communications including branch, digital and other promotional materials. This includes developing contracts to optimize the bank’s marketing in a cost-effective manner.
• Developing the annual marketing plan and budget to support marketing and public relations strategies and ensuring adherence to approved budget.
• Measuring the value of marketing investments in terms of contribution to customer retention, and new retail and business customer acquisition (both deposit acquisition and new loan origination).
• Working with our Leadership Team on new product promotions and pricing.
• Developing press releases and managing communications and publicity and other logistics for special events.
• Leading the strategic implementation of social media marketing efforts; and monitoring all bank social networking sites.
• Making recommendations for the bank’s contributions and promotional support of community-focused organizations and events.
Working Conditions
Duties are performed in an office environment in a professional business setting. Position may require travel when attending community events/meetings, internal meetings/trainings and to banking centers.
Physical and/or Mental Requirements
May be required to sit for extended periods of time while performing job duties. May be required to lift and carry up to 20 pounds in the form of paperwork, files, or other items. Must be able to concentrate for extended periods of time, paying attention to detail.
