Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications Position Summary
This position is responsible for the technical operations of sound, lighting and other presentation equipment in the Talmadge Auditorium at Rock Eagle. This role is also responsible for the setup of other audio/ visual equipment and public address systems in classrooms and recreational buildings throughout the Rock Eagle 4-H Center, including the Rock Eagle Dining Hall and Georgia EMC Pavilion. Meeting with guests prior to event to compile and gather necessary information for the program's success will be necessary. Coordinating with the Rock Eagle administration, maintenance, housekeeping and IT departments. Activities such as mixing, editing, recording, archiving recitals/shows, assisting with ensemble will be necessary. In addition, this position will be in charge of keeping an industry current inventory of all AV related materials to include but not limited to remotes, adapters, microphones, stands cables and cords. Prior to guest usage LCD's should be inspected to ensure proper working condition and screens will need to be positioned/formatted properly.
This position will be a member of the maintenance department. When there is not sufficient audio visual and support work, in the Rock Eagle center buildings, the position will manage the physical element of buildings including addressing maintenance/custodial needs. This activity may include but not limited to cleaning, replacing light bulbs, minor plumbing tasks, minor carpentry, painting and staining. Coordinating the upkeep, maintenance and tuning of the Rock Eagle pianos will be necessary. Ongoing knowledge of industry changes and trends is necessary.
Hours will vary with groups on center. Frequent night and weekend work.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Solid communication skills, both oral and written are necessary. Able to read and understand AV product literature. The position will utilize the ability to teach others how to operate AV equipment, including the Auditorium sound booth, dining hall, and buildings. Will need to stay current with technological changes to the equipment.
