As a Senior Scientist, you will be responsible for applying cutting-edge LC/MS technology and/or LBA for investigational purposes of mAb, protein therapeutics and other new modalities. LC/MS investigations may include assessing in vivo critical quality attributes (CQA), such as variant analysis, glycoform analysis and biotransformation (e.g. deamidation, oxidation). Additional areas of investigations include mechanistic investigations using LC/MS to support new biotherapeutic modalities (eg viral vectors); immunocapture-LC/MS quantitation of biotherapeutics, protein biomarkers; oligonucleotide metabolite profiling, and anti-id antibody and reagent characterization by LC/MS. You will collaborate across different disciplines to study istability of therapeutic proteins and biomarker LC/MS assay development and quantitation. You will evaluate and interpret experimental data and contribute toward the advancement of applications of LC/MS for biologics drug development. You will stay abreast of the new advancements in the fields of bioanalysis and collaborate both internally and externally. You are expected to propose and implement new techniques, effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects, and implement strategies to reach predetermined milestones and achieve R&D and corporate goals.
**Duties & Responsibilities:**
+ Develop and implement new LC/MS technologies within the field in CQA (critical quality attributes) of biologics, and biotransformation of mAb, therapeutic proteins and other new modalities.
+ Conduct studies on in protein variant/glycoform/biotransformation studies, intact mass analysis, peptide mapping, protein stability.
+ Develop immunocapture-LC/MS assays for quantitation of protein biomarkers and perform sample analysis.
+ Be familiar with and develop state of the art LBA assays for quantitation of mAb, protein therapeutics and or protein biomarkers
+ Develop an understanding of GI team goals and work effectively toward achieving them, represent Analytical on Development Teams.
+ Keep abreast of relevant literature and develop visibility outside of functional area and externally.
+ Communicate results and data interpretation through oral presentations and written documents to multidisciplinary project teams and management.
+ Comply with all applicable regulations; ensure that work performed in area of responsibility is conducted in a safe and compliant manner; maintain proper records in accordance with corporate SOPs and policies.
**Requirements:**
+ Ph.D. earned from an accredited institution in biochemistry or other relevant field, with significant hands-on experiences in LC/MS analysis of proteins and other new modalities.
+ Competency with LC-MS, LC-MS/MS, HRMS, HDX instrumentation and/or LBA instrumentation (Gyros, MSD)
+ A fundamental understanding of protein chemistry and familiarity with handling of proteins and biologics.
+ Experience with mass spectrometry software (Analyst, Xcalibur, and other protein data processing software).
+ Post-doctoral experience (up to 2 years for sr. scientist) would be advantageous.
+ Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in an interdisciplinary environment.
