Full Job Description ACTION, Inc. is seeking a dedicated individual who is committed to mentoring and coaching high school youth in 7 to 8 Northeast Georgia counties and assisting with program outreach activities, participant follow-up, workshop development and delivery, and work experience opportunities. This position offers 30 hours per week with full Agency benefits, including major medical insurance, paid holidays, mileage reimbursement, paid time off, and a Simple IRA Plan.
Program participants need additional support to achieve career success, including graduating from high school and continuing to higher education, employment, or the military.
The responsibilities of the Career Coach / Program Assistant will include:
Developing and maintaining professional mentoring relationships with high school youth.
Providing career coaching, case management, and follow-up services.
Developing and maintaining effective partnerships with the local school systems, technical colleges, universities, employers, and other community partners.
Completing and maintaining detailed and accurate case notes and program-required documentation of services and participant outcomes.
Assisting with program outreach and new participant applications.
Assisting with workshop development and delivery.
Assisting with developing worksites for work experience activities in participants’ desired career fields.
Providing participant follow-up services following graduation.
Successful candidates must possess a strong commitment along with the persistence and follow-through necessary to help youth and young adults achieve educational and career success. Superb conversational, listening, trust-building, and relationship-building skills are of paramount importance. The ability to successfully work in a team environment is required. The ideal candidate will have 2 or more years of successful case management / coaching experience, preferably with youth and/or young adults; skill in maintaining accurate, time-sensitive, and confidential records, including skill in completing documentation in Google Drive; and an Associate degree or higher in Public Relations, Adult Education, Business Administration, Social Work, or a related field.
Additional highly desired skills include demonstrated leadership and partnership-building skills and skills in providing Education and Career Workshops.
A successful candidate must have reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance, as the position requires regular travel throughout the Northeast Georgia communities.
