Full Job Description The Director of Safety and Security oversees all inhouse, t-shirt, police, emt and is the main liaison with ACC, university of GA and state law enforcement. They provide security for The Classic Center to safeguard the company?s assets and to be diligent and dependable in discharging out assigned duties. The director ensures that they closely monitor upcoming events and ensure that any special needs are planned for to ensure the safety of the event and the facility. The Director of Safety and Security surveys the premises during their respective shift and are also responsible for additional duties during emergency procedures. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Facilities and Ancillary Services.
TYPICAL WORK ROUTINE INCLUDES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Primary person for overseeing safety and security and ensuring compliance of all related policies and procedures to ensure the safety of our guest, employees, and property at The Classic Center.
• Serve as a central resource internally and externally in response to security, safety concerns or questions
• Monitor the implementation of The Classic Center?s safety procedures and assist with ensuring they remain up to date
• Develop and continuously improve policies and protocols to support emergency response and a safe environment
• Plan, develop, recommend, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and programs related to safety practices
• Develop adequate and relevant in-service training programs for security and center personnel which supports policy enforcement, fire safety, and accident prevention at The Classic Center
• Create and refine an annual schedule for safety drills and trainings for certificates (i.e. CPR, AED)
• Takes the lead on the creation and refinement and recommendations to the VP of facilities of a risk register, identify potential risks, plan of action, and responsible individuals and a recovery plan.
• Assist human resources with maintaining OSHA Standards and Record-Keeping Requirements and ensuring The Classic Center is prepared for OSHA Inspections
• Assist visitors and serve as concerned public relations representatives.
• Protect personnel on the premises.
• Provide leadership during critical incidents by using the Incident Command System model of standard response
• Quarterly liaison with local and state law enforcement making them aware of any significant events and becoming aware of other significant events or trending threats in our area.
• Ensure proper documentation of incidents, disbursement of information to proper individuals, and follow up with individuals related to the incident
• Serve as a deterrent to person?s intent on committing criminal acts. Protect proprietary and classified information. Look for and report potential hazards. Restrict access to unauthorized people.
• Interact and develop collaborative relationships with local and state law enforcement and safety agencies
• Observe and take immediate action to use of illegal drugs and inappropriate consumption of alcohol.
• Monitor materials leaving the facility, helping to ensure that company property does not leave without proper authorization.
• Ensure proper logs and storage of all packages that arrive within the facility and notify appropriate individuals of their arrivals
• Ensure proper supervision, coordination of personnel policies and guidelines and maintaining proper staffing levels and managing hiring process.
• Notify and/or schedule all necessary security personnel to work on The Classic Center events and to ensure that they are knowledgeable of all safety regulations, emerging evacuation procedures, and that The Classic Center is in proper order prior to the opening of the facility to the general public.
• Develop and administer the security budgetary accounts for the department, maximizing revenue and decreasing expenses when appropriate
• Review and monitor security personnel hours to remain within part-time hours and budget
• Create a rotation of scheduled tours, monitor and proper reporting of scheduled tours
• Provide customer service and safety training and work with the Director of Operations to test such skills to ensure that all managers on duty and event staff are appropriately trained to handle emergency and routine situations in a professional manor.
• Attend Operations and Theatre meetings, review and make recommendations for event security
• Proficiency on CCTV systems- monitor, configure, and ensure all are adequate and functional
• Proficiency in management of Access Control Systems, recommend keying and card requirements for staff
• The primary mission is to maintain a secure facility; detect, deter and report any violations to facility policy, safety violations and any attempts at theft, criminal damage, etc. House Guards will maintain a safe and secure facility for The Classic Center by affording crowd control and direction when appropriate.
