Job Description
*JOB TITLE: MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN DAY SHIFT, FULL TIME**Job Summary**: *The Maintenance Technician is an hourly, regular full-time position with an advanced level of responsibility within the overall Maintenance department. This position is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and improving mechanical and electrical equipment & systems in a working manufacturing environment with an emphasis on employee safety as the top priority. The incumbent will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.This position will work a dedicated day shift that may include working weekends, extended shifts into evenings and overtime as needed.*Duties and Responsibilities**: ** Responsible for keeping brewery equipment running to its full potential with a minimum amount of downtime.* Performing advanced electrical, programming, and mechanical troubleshooting on all equipment.* Entering and completing work orders by logging actions and findings in an accurate and timely fashion in a maintenance program.* Ability to accurately diagnose the source of failures and make emergency repairs to all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic systems as needed to return systems to service and minimize production downtime.* Complete installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic & electrical equipment including plant control systems, motor control circuitry including variable frequency drives.* Troubleshoot, repair, configure and program automated control systems involving VFDs, Flow/ Pressure/ Temperature Monitors and Process Analyzers, or SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) systems.* Assisting plant operations in setting up and making running adjustments to equipment to maintain maximum efficiency.* Handling a large work load with multiple preventive and repair tasks/projects.* Ability to install, set up, and troubleshoot communications modules and control components to include photo eyes, motor starters, Servo drives, encoders, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, motors, and other line control devices.* Diagnose, repair and overhaul process pumps, automatic control valves, sensors, positioners, actuators, basic electrical AC/DC troubleshooting and related systems.* Diagnose and repair of all machinery and process malfunctions, must be fluent in mechanical troubleshooting, electrical troubleshooting a plus.* Diagnose and repair of all mechanical power transmission equipment. Knowledge of Gear boxes, mechanical drives and variable speed applications.* Read and decipher mechanical drawings, schematics and piping diagrams.* Skilled in application and use of mechanical tools, hand tools, power tools and skilled in machine shop to machine within specific tolerance using various measuring equipment.* Perform daily inspection of all brewery support utilities and equipment.* Perform other duties as assigned.*Competencies**: ***To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.* _Safety & Security_ - the individual observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.* _Problem Solving_ - the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully.* _Planning/Organizing_ - the individual prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently.* _Quality Control_ - the individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality, steadfast attention to detail and applies feedback to improve performance.* _Quantity_ - meets productivity standards and completes work in a timely manner.* _Adaptability_ - the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.* _Dependability_ - the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.*Knowledge & Skills Requirements**: *The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 3-5 years work experience in manufacturing in a dedicated maintenance role focused on repairing electrical or controls systems. _(Or)_ in a field of industrial operations, plant operations, maintenance, utilities and/or related field and performing similar job duties.Applicants, without an accommodation, must have the ability to frequently reach, twist, stoop, bend, crouch, stand and walk for 10-12 hour shifts within a loud manufacturing environment. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. without an accommodation.Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics and blue prints and use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and other tools to complete repairs.Applicants must be able to wear personal protective equipment and work in varying weather conditions that includes humidity and seasonal temperature changes.Applicant should possess strong mechanical ability with problem solving/troubleshooting skills.*Preferred Qualifications*: Completion of a technical based degree or diploma program is desired with an emphasis in Industrial Systems, Electrical Systems, Electrical Controls or a similar area of study and 5+ years work experience._Terrapin Beer Company, LLC is a craft beer brewery located in Athens, Georgia dedicated to creating unique experiences through the passionate brewing of the finest-quality craft beers.
