Job Description:
Assist in establishing financial controls and systems for new grants/programs.
Maintains all pertinent records, files and documents related to grant funded projects; assures completeness and accuracy consistent with external and internal audit requirements.
Coordinates grant administration matters with Procurement, Risk, and Office of County Attorney and maintains contacts with various external grantors.
Organize and prepare required financial and program reports for grant funded projects.
Research, analyze, and implement federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
Provide policy and procedure recommendations to promote financial and grant compliance.
Assists in the development and helps conduct education meetings one on one and with large groups regarding Federal, State, and local policy and regulations as they pertain to grants.
Partners with Business Units and/or other agencies.  Participates on strategy teams across functional areas to develop innovative approaches for meeting fiscal challenges. Develops strong, facilitative relationships.
Supports, educates, and assists colleagues and customers in all phases of grant planning and implementation.
Participates in disaster response and financial preparedness and assist with updating/maintaining countywide standard operating procedures related to disaster preparedness.
Participate in sensitive, technical, and special projects.
Work Hours:  Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
About You:
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or other related field and minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience.
Master’s Degree in related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
Related professional experience or certifications may substitute for the required education.
Preferred Qualification:  Two (2) years of grant experience preferred.
