Job Description
1. Keeps HBC aisle(s) well stocked to meet customer demand. Answers customer questions, handles special requests and complaints in a prompt and courteous manner.
2. Applies proper stocking techniques to ensure products are properly located on shelves, ensures merchandise is in saleable condition and has correct prices and signs.
3. Assists Non-Perishable Manager in building attractive displays for the HBC aisles. Handles damaged merchandise, new items and discontinued items according to company policy.
4. Shares responsibility for back room conditions. Follows sanitation guidelines to ensure work areas and aisles are well maintained and disposes of trash properly. May assist in making bales if over 18 years of age and properly trained on baler training provided.
5. Helps control inventories through proper ordering. May help receive and unload incoming merchandise using equipment such as jacks (must be over 18 years of age and trained to safely operate any kind of power equipment training provided).
6. Ensures smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and superiors. Responsible to continuously improve job performance.
7. May also assist in other departments, especially in grocery aisles or front-end. May include running a register, bagging groceries or parcel pick-up.
