What you need to be successful:
• Bachelor's Degree in Allied Health Athletic Training
• National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification Credential (NATABOC) BLS/CPR (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers)
• Athletic Trainer Board Licensed in the state in which he or she will practice
• At least 1 year Entry Level SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Responsibilities include:
• Demonstrate the ability to perform the following functions regarding athletic injuries: prevention, treatment, reconditioning, & immediate care as set forth by Ohio Athletic Training Practice Act, and generally accepted principles of athletic training.
• Demonstrate proper taping, bracing, strapping, & fitting of athletic equipment.
• Carry out all prescribed treatments & recommendations by the physician.
• Individual also evaluates, plans, and administers treatment and care of athletes under the direct supervision of a designated physician.
• Cover assigned games, matches, and contracted events for assigned school and applicable special events under the supervision of designated physician.
• Demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development and possess the ability to assess data reflective of athlete's status and interpret the appropriate information.
• Ensure high standard of quality care to patients and clients, and development of program and growth initiatives.
• Maintain BOC certification and AT licensure in the State in which he or she will be practicing.
