Responsibilities What do our Payroll Specialist's do?
This position is responsible for processing large payroll cycles,  that includes management of the prevailing wage and certified payroll processes. This position will be a subject matter expert for Federal, State and Local pay regulations and identify and actively remediate the risks.  This role will also provide technical expertise for UKG/UTM and develop processes to eliminate manual areas of work.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Process weekly and bi-weekly payrolls, ensuring that all federal, state and local wage and hour regulations are followed.
• Responsible for completing prevailing wage and certified payrolls in a timely manner
• Responsible for completing reconciliations for each payroll, including but not limited to tax withholding accounts
• Responsible for assessing existing processes and remediation areas of risk
• Provide technical expertise for UKG/UTM platform and move migrate manual processes into systematized processes
• Monitors regulatory environment and ensures that the payroll processing is compliant
• Provide technical expertise in projects related to Timekeeping and Payroll
• Collaborates with internal auditors to ensure department operation procedures are in compliance with policies
• Other duties as assigned.
What do you need?
• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of payroll processing experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Human Resources or related field and 5+ years of experience, or an Associate’s Degree and 6 + years of payroll processing experience.  In lieu of a degree 8 or more years of  payroll processing experience in a medium to large scale business.
• At least 5+ years of experience with Ultipro/UKG payroll and KRONOS/UTM timekeeping systems.
• Experience supporting processing multiple payrolls in a highly dynamic organization.
• Experience identifying and remediation of risk associated with payroll
• Experience managing large projects.
• Must have current Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation
• This job is a remote position and occasionally may require travel.
• Expert knowledge and demonstrable capabilities with Ultipro/UKG and Kronos/UTM.
• Proven ability to run multiple payrolls with multi-jurisdiction taxation, on-call pay, incentive and commission calculations.
• Expert payroll processing knowledgeStrong knowledge of wage and hour regulations and federal, state and local pay regulations
• Thrive in a fast paced and changing environment while maintaining focus on delivering payroll and corresponding deliverables, i.e. weekly pay register and deduction reconciliations as well as tax withholding reconciliations.
• Ability to work independently setting own priorities and objectives with leadership support.
• Skilled at focusing on desired results, determining what is important and urgent, identifying next steps, and effectively meeting deadlines and achieving desired results.
• Ability to maintain highly confidential information.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to effectively present to and facilitate both large and small groups.
• Knowledge of State and Federal laws, regulations and requirements related to HR including ERISA, EEO, LOAs, ADA, Worker’s Compensation, COBRA, Wage & Hour and others.
• Must pass pre-employment background screen and drug test.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass motor vehicle record search.
