novel magnetic materials and additive manufacturing.MAINTENANCE RELIABILITY ENGINEER PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE MAINTENANCE RELIABILITY ENGINEER: Leads improved reliability of the physical assets by eliminating failures through development and implementation of a sound proactive maintenance strategy, analysis of failure causes, identifying, developing and implementing design enhancements and improved repair methods.Responsible for the reliability and failure minimization of all equipment in the area to which he/she is assigned.Investigates and resolves difficult root cause failure analysis to prevent failures.  Assists less experienced Reliability Engineers in complex root cause failure analysis. Leads efforts to improve system reliability such that production output is maximized.  Drives PdM with all new equipment installations and processes in their respective areas of responsibility.Ensures maintenance of appropriate records and files by self and other Reliability Engineers to permit meaningful control analysis and reporting of results or completed work. Leads the development of analysis methods for determining maintenance demands and reliability of components, equipment and processes. Analyzes, prepares diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations, and reports of downtime data and provides recommendations for reducing outages.Identifies, recommends and implements solutions to downtime situations based on analysis of the manpower/equipment/reliability required to resolve, considering cost limitations for equipment up/down time, repair/replacement costs, weight, size and availability of materials/equipment. Determines the cost advantage of alternatives for developing action plans to comply with internal/external customer demands for reliable processes/equipment to avoid failures.Provides in-house consulting activities to advise and council personnel on a variety of complicated processes/procedures supported by detailed calculations and guided by cost effective solutions. Identify, establish and implement precision maintenance and repair techniques. Develops training materials and leads the training of others to promulgate the concepts across the organization. Represents the company in outside discussion and technical forums.Plans, conducts and directs engineering research and development projects of major significance which are very difficult and complex in nature including selection of team members, assignment of responsibilities and budget adherence. Designs and develops new and unique repair and engineering methods and procedures, special equipment, innovative test procedures, special analysis of failure techniques, and communicates these advanced concepts through detailed reports used in the supervision and education of reliability engineers and craft personnel. Leads and directs the work of less experienced Reliability Engineers.Performs other duties and projects as assigned.REQUIRED FOR THE MAINTENANCE RELIABILITY ENGINEER:Four year college degree in an Engineering discipline preferred, High School diploma required.Eight or more years experience in an engineering or maintenance support position.PREFERRED FOR THE MAINTENANCE RELIABILITY ENGINEER:Ability to create and develop analysis methods.Ability to analyze data and create diagrams, charts and reports to summarize resultsAcquires downtime data and analyzes the data for maintenance and process improvements.Ability to works under broad administrative instructionsAbility to provide consultation to internal personnelAbility to train and lead the work of other professionalsAbility to follow company safety and health guidelines and is a leader in safetyAbility to develop productive working relationships with Maintenance and Production personnel at all levels.Strong project management skills.Expert advanced engineering knowledge from several different disciplines.Advanced knowledge of the existing manufacturing systems including the computer systems, steel making processes, material flow and handling schemes, quality systems and process control techniques.Practical understanding of engineering principles standards,
