Responsibilities What do our Regulatory Affairs Consultants do?
The Regulatory Affairs Consultant is a technical position within the Steritech Business reporting to the VP of Food Safety. This position is a full-time resource dedicated to supporting a single US-based restaurant client. Day to day work direction will be provided by the client. The primary responsibility of this position is to support the client by working with state and local food regulatory agencies on a broad array of research and administrative activities. Projects may include but are not limited to: research of regulatory requirements and assisting with permit applications, plan review processes, variance applications, and HACCP plans.
Responsibilites include but are not limited to:
• Interface directly with stakeholders inside the client organization, when requested, to provide advice and assistance with resolution or mitigation of challenges related to ongoing or potential regulatory actions.
• Coordinate and ensure excellent communication between the two companies when Steritech performs special projects and field studies for the client.
• This position is primarily virtual and may be based anywhere in the US.
• Carry out research and administrative support projects as defined by the client related to regulatory standards. Scope the work, manage to completion, and present the results.
• Support client as a subject matter expert on questions related to regulatory standards, food safety and public health.
• Interface directly with state and local regulatory personnel or with various client contacts as needed to complete assigned projects.
• Possess an in-depth understanding of how regulatory requirements for foodservice are documented and applied at state and local jurisdictional levels.
• Work independently to acquire and review state and local regulations relevant to foodservice establishments.
• Interpret code requirements, identify gaps between code and client policy, and suggest changes to bring them into alignment.
• Manage assigned projects from design to execution to on-time delivery.
• Provide clear verbal and written communication on regulatory technical matters.
• Act as liaison between the client and regulatory agencies for new projects or during crisis management and recommend solutions.
• Assess client procedures, processes, and/or equipment to determine compliance with all relevant regulatory codes.
What do you ne ed?
• Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to food safety
• 5 years of regulatory experience in foodservice
• Experience communicating and interacting effectively with regulatory authorities in various state and local jurisdictions
• Experience interpreting food codes and regulations from all relevant regulatory agencies.
• Experience in plan review for foodservice operations
• Experience in providing consultative feedback: evaluate a situation and give multiple solutions to meet changing business needs
• Ability to summarize key regulatory information that may impact the client's food safety procedures and processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Proficient in Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and Gmail
• Must pass pre-employment background screen
