This position works under general supervision to assemble/test parts, components, or systems for excavators and tractors according to the specified work orders. This position is for the assembly line at the Athens, GA site.In this role you may be expected to:Follow documented procedures standard work, routings, and blueprints to perform safe and defect free assembly and adjustment of components and prime product.Follow and utilize Caterpillar Production System (CPS) principles of 5S, continuous improvement idea reporting, waste elimination, and standard work. Seek out paint defects and perform paint touch up as needed.Use lifting devices to move heavy components of weights of more than 35 lbs..Basic Requirements:Previous work or volunteer experience (Assembly experience is not required. You will go through a 2-week training program)Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):Willing and able to sit or stand for prolonged periodsWilling and able to perform repetitive operationsWilling and able to lift up to 35 lbs. Top Candidates will also have: Manufacturing experienceParts/product manufacturing assembly experienceHeavy equipment machine assembly experienceCaterpillar product knowledge (excavators, tractors, etc.)Excellent attendance recordEffective communication and interpersonal skillsAdditional Information:  Resumes are highly encouraged.
