Position ConceptThis position is responsible for the oversight and data management of the Kids Direct program, which provides a central tracking system for children in out-of-home care, including maintenance of information on provider rates and types of ICWSIS and FSFN data systems. This positions tracks the changes in placement of children in the Circuit's system of care and alerts appropriate persons of these events.Essential Functions
Responsible for the oversight and daily operation and coordination of Kids Direct functions.
Directly supervises the Data Management Specialists in accordance with organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; and rewarding and disciplining employees.
Ensures calls to Kids Direct line are answered promptly and operators create tickets, obtaining required information on the children's placements.
Responsible for coordinating the workload/training of data services staff.
Communicates information to case management organizations through agency directors and other staff as appropriate to correct inefficiencies of data provision between case managers and Kids Direct staff.
Manages the workload of Data Management Specialists to ensure work flow steady and backlog is prevented.
Responsible for monthly written reporting on Kids Direct operations and analysis of trends with regard to the types of calls received and timeliness in order to modify procedures and accommodate the needs of case managers and other Kids Direct staff.
Ensures accuracy of data entry and integrity with FSFN and ICWSIS related requirements.
Acts as the central point of contract for managing user role and access to the Kids Direct system.
Position SpecificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in social services or related field required. A combination of college coursework and experience at a level commensurate with a bachelor's degree may substitute for the degree requirement. Experience: Five years computer work experience required, preferably in records management. One year of supervisory experience required. Skills: Computer experience in a Windows environment, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), ability to learn and utilize other software programs. Proven ability to provide leadership to staff . Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to work independently and utilize initiative, ability to be organized and to meet deadlines.Physical Demands: Ability to sit at desk for long periods of time, and tolerate extended periods of data entry. Must be free of communicable diseases as required by the state and to the extent that knowledge is attainable under the law.Other: Maintain an appropriate and valid state driver's license. Must meet state criminal background check requirements.
